ARVE TOLLAN PAINTS WITH CARDING, COMB AND WOOL

The artist Arve Tollan has created his own figurative language with the nature as inspiration. He has studio and gallery in Nøtterøy.
With sheep wool and comb as the main material and carding the palette, he conjures up images with soft lines in wool. The wool he uses are significantly from Gotland, Iceland and Norway.
Using his unique artistic technique he conjures up beautiful subjects that enthrall, which are inspired by Norwegian nature. It is the particular the special depth experience the wool structure provides that makes his art so vibrant.
Apart from wool, Arve Tollan also use weathered iron, grout, stone, glass, wood and other natural materials in his paintings.
Arve Tollan was voted to this year's Norwegian artist in 2010. He has had numerous exhibitions both in Norway, Europe and also in New York.

Kunstneren Arve Tollan har skapt sitt eget billedspråk med naturen som inspirasjonskilde. Han har atelier og galleri på Nøtterøy.
Med saueull og kam som hovedmateriale og karde som palett, tryller han fram bilder med myke linjer i ull. Ullen han bruker er vesentlig fra Gotland, Island og Norge. 

Ved hjelp av sin særegne kunstneriske teknikk maner han fram vakre motiver som bergtar og som er inspirert av norsk natur. Det er særlig den spesielle dybdeopplevelsen ullstrukturen gir som gjør hans kunstverk så levende. Teknikken har kunstneren selv utviklet gjennom mange år.
Utover ull, bruker Arve Tollan også forvitret jern, støpemasse, stein, glass, tre og andre naturmaterialer i sine malerier.
Arve Tollan ble kåret til årets norske kunstner i 2010 og har hatt en rekke utstillinger både i Norge, Europa og også i New York.
